Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
This bottling came about when some 12yo Glen Moray was 'accidentally' mixed with what was supposed to be a new batch of Ardbeg 17yo. The resultant bottling is a fine dram, wether or not you believe it really was a 'happy accident' or not. The whisky is actually very similar to some batches of Ardbeg 17 because many of them had some of the infamous Ardbeg Kildalton added to the vatting. This was an unpeated Ardbeg that performed a similar softening process to that which the Glen Moray does in the Serendipity bottling. It is a bottling that can be argued about for hours among anoraks but the real acid test, as with all bottlings, is the taste, and Serendipity is actually a pretty decent dram.
